Registration Open and Details Emerge for Million-Dollar Legends Race

The attention of everyone in the Legends Car nation has been focused on the million dollar event. Over the last few weeks, details on the event have been slowly releasing, but on Wednesday, January 27th, SMI and Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) opened registration and put out schedule and payout information that clarifies many things surrounding the largest single event in Legends Car history.
Last week it was announced that a million-dollar Legends Car race would take place at CMS in July, from the 15th – 17th. While there was speculation as to whether it would be a million-to-win event or million-dollar purse, it was clarified that it was a total payout, not just a winner’s share.

Concord Speedway Axes Summer Events Due to Sanctioning Issues

Last week, Concord Speedway (NC) officials were notified by INEX that their summer races, which they added this season at the request of many competitors, would not be sanctioned and drivers would not receive national points. Concord Speedway officials told LN they were looking into holding the races if the competitors still wanted them, but late last week the speedway announced they were dropping their summer dates after polling the competitors.
The spring and fall dates will still be INEX-sanctioned points events.
Winter Heat Series Winners From Saturday at Charlotte

The Winter Heat Series was once again at the Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) on Saturday. First up were Bandolero make-up races from the prior week's rainout. Harrison Burton (Bandolero Beginner Bandits), Tyler Collins (Bandolero Bandits) and Austin Langenstein (Bandolero Young Guns) were the feature winners. For the regular-scheduled events, winners were Jordan Locklear (Bandolero Beginner Bandits), Ray Beebe (Bandolero Bandits), Reid Wilson (Bandolero Young Guns), Cody Humpfreys (Legends Young Lions), Jake Morris (Legends Semi-Pro), Jimmy Heavlow (Legends Pro) and David Denham (Legends Masters).
According to INEX, the adjusted points leaders are Garrett Biggers (Bandolero Bandits), John Holleman (Bandolero Young Guns), Sean Shalvoy (Legends Young Lions), Matt Lundstrom (Legends Semi-Pro), Jimmy Heavlow (Legends Pro) and David Denham (Legends Masters). Denham is the only driver that has officially clinched the title for his division.
Georgia Winter Series Winners From Watermelon Capital Speedway

The Georgia Winter Series continued this past weekend at Watermelon Capital Speedway (GA). Winners from the features were Kason Plott (Bandolero Bandits), Anderson Bowen (Bandolero Young Guns), Mason Massey (Legends Young Lions), Cody Garland (Legends Semi-Pro), Donald McIntosh (Legends Pro) and Bobby Fox (Legends Masters).
Racing resumes this coming weekend for the Georgia Winter Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway with double features.
