National Scene - From Riverhead Raceway PR

Michael Gervais Jr. of Southbury, Ct. snapped the two-race win streak of Silas Hiscock Jr. when the Nutmeg state driver won the 20-lap Legend Race Car main event. Tom Sherman and Tony Naglieri ran one-two for the first five laps of the race before Gervais began to make his way to the front of the field from his 7th starting spot. On lap 6 Gervais raced by Naglieri for second and just one lap later he made an inside pass in turn one past Tom Sherman to take over the lead of the race. Once out front Michael Gervais Jr. in the Newton Exxon Legend never looked back as he captured his first career Riverhead Raceway win. Tom Sherman of Farmingdale for the second straight week was runner-up in the Oval Speed Unlimited entry, while newcomer Kevin Nowak of Medford notched his second third place finish of 2008 in the NAPA Auto Parts racer.
