The 2008 Summer Shootout is just a few weeks away, but before the Legends and Bandolero racers hit the track for the largest racing series in the country for the scale cars at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, the drivers have just one opportunity to see how their car will perform in true race conditions.

On Thursday, May 22nd, the Legends and Bandolero drivers will be a part of the NASCAR Pole Night festivities by racing on the quarter-mile front stretch track at LMS.  Unlike the Summer Shootout though, 600 Racing / INEX has limited the amount of drivers that can compete in each of the four races.

According to the entry forms, space is limited to the first 24 registrants for the four races being held: Bandolero Bandits, Bandolero Young Guns / Outlaws, Legends Semi-Pros / Young Lions and Legends Pros / Masters.

LegendsNation.com spoke to 600 Racing Monday morning and confirmed that spots are going fast.  As of this morning, both Legends races are filled while there are about eight spots left in the Bandits division race and 11 in the Young Guns / Outlaws race.

Drivers that are looking to participate are encouraged to get their entries in immediately.  Forms can be downloaded from the 600 Racing website, or by clicking on the following links:   May LMS Entry Form     May LMS Waver
The driver’s meeting is scheduled for 4:00 pm on Thursday, followed by the racing action from 4:50 pm to 5:50 pm.  Officials will draw starting positions for each participant with the draw closing at 12:00 pm on Thursday (entrants received beyond that time will be placed at the rear of the field).

LegendsNation.com will be at Lowe’s Motor Speedway Thursday and will have race stories from the event.
