2008 Summer Shootout Test Dates And Pole Night Announced

Practice and Racing Action Prior To The Big Show This Summer

The 15th annual Summer Shootout will take place this summer at Lowe's Motor Speedway for 10 weeks in a row on Tuesdays, starting on June 10th and ending on August 12th.  Prior to the racing action in the most prestigious Legends and Bandolero racing series in the country, drivers have a very limited ability to get seat time on the quarter-mile track on the front stretch of the speedway.

600 Racing officials and Lowe's Motor Speedway reps confirmed with LegendsNation.com on Wednesday there will be an open practice at LMS for the Legends and Bandolero racers on Tuesday, April 22nd from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  The Thunder Cup (Roadsters) will have their practice on Tuesday, May 6th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

There will also be an open practice on Monday, June 9th, the day before the first round of the 2008 Summer Shootout Series.

Drivers that are looking to get some racing action in on the quarter-mile track prior to the Summer Shootout will have one shot this spring.  INEX officials confirmed Thursday morning that the Legends and Bandolero Racers will once again be a part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole night at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Thursday, May 22nd.  The race schedule for that day will be announced at a later date.
