Concord Motorsport Park Inside Curbing Added
Track Makes Statement: Stay Off Our Grass
By Jason Buckley
Last year when Concord Motorsport Park (NC) officials told the drivers to stay off their grass, they meant business.  Drivers received black flags if they clipped the grass or the cones that were set on the inside of the track in the corners, but that didn’t stop them from continuing to press the issue.

Now there are more crucial consequences if a driver races too far to the inside of the track.

Wednesday afternoon the facility started installing curbing in the turns to keep drivers off the grass.  The curbing isn’t a gradual grade, rather a large hump-style curb.  Officials hope this sends a message to the drivers to stay off the grass and on the track surface.

The first race for the Legends and Bandolero racers with the new curbing will occur Saturday night, March 8th.
New curbing: entering turn three.
New curbing: looking back at turn three.
New curbing: laying the curbing.
New curbing: entering turn one.
