Who Won and What Happened
Who won in this weekend's Legends and Bandolero races across the Carolinas? What hit the news wires? Check out what we found out during the weekend. This page will be updated throughout the weekend as the results come in after the events, with the most recent news on top.

CONCORD MOTORSPORT PARK
With many Legends drivers choosing Caraway's action on Friday night, plus some other Legends teams as well as Bandolero teams keeping their cars prepared for the start to the Lowe's Motor Speedway Summer Shootout this coming Tuesday night, the carcounts were low at Concord. Perhaps weather had a hand in the low counts, as well, as two separate rain delays halted the action throughout the night.
The Bandolero Bandits had the largest starting field with just nine cars taking the green flag. At the checkered flag of the Bandits race, it was Dillon Bassett taking the victory that closed out the spring season at Concord. The track now sits idle while local racing shifts to the Summer Shootout before starting back up in August.
In other Bandolero feature events, Kendall Sellers dominated the Outlaw feature, Benji Hicks won the Beginner Bandit event and Dylan Pack won in the Young Guns. In the Legends divisions, Charles Kiser took the overall win in the Pro/Masters feature, thus earning the Masters Division win, while Ken Harris finished a lap down to Kiser in the main event, but still took the Pro Division title as the only Pro competitor on the track. The Legends Charger Semi-Pro win went to Kyle Pierce. Chad Hackenbracht won his first-ever Legends feature in the Semi-Pro event.
NPR CHOOSES CARAWAY OVER CONCORD FRIDAY
Jordan Anderson is currently leading the Pro Legends track points at Concord Motorsport Park. His NPR teammate John Stancill is sitting second in the Semi Pro division. But neither will be at the track tonight for the final race before the track takes the Summer Shootout break. LN has learned both drivers will be at Caraway Speedway instead.
NPR drivers Anderson and Stancill are chasing the National Points championships, which led to their decision on where to go.
"I think our chances of getting a good car count will be better by going to Caraway Speedway," said Anderson early Friday afternoon. "That is why our plans are to race at Caraway tonight."
NATIONAL NEWS: FLAG MAN AND DRIVER OK AFTER FLIP TAKES DOWN FLAG STAND
Last weekend at Mountain Speedway (Hazleton, PA), a driver and flag man had a scare as both were part of a wild Legends accident that tore down the flag stand.
After contact with a lapped car, Jason Rochelle's Legends car went for a wild ride flipping upside down on the wall and into the flag stand before coming to a rest on the track on his lid. Chris Walk, in his first year as a flag man at Mountain Speedway, took evasive action to miss the out of control car. According to track officials, neither Rochelle or Walk were hurt in the accident.

ANDERSON MOTOR SPEEDWAY LEGENDS RESULTS
From AndersonMotorSpeedway.com:
Wesley Thompson led every lap of the 600 Legends race as he claimed the overall victory and the victory in the Pro Portion of the race. Justin Ashley pressured Thompson the first fifteen laps of the race before he dropped back but then Ashley closed once again on lap eighteen and made a bid for the lead but Thompson held him off to secure the victory. Justin Ashley finished second and claimed the victory in the Semi-Pro portion of the race. Jerry Rector finished third and claimed the victory in the Masters portion of the race. John Gallman finished fourth. Andrew Brown finished fifth.
CARAWAY SPEEDWAY RESULTS
In one of the most exciting and intense races of the 2007 racing season, Steven Ross took the overall win in the 25-lap Legends feature at Caraway Speedway (NC).
Ross ran up front during the race, swapping the lead with Jordan Anderson, John Gotsacker and John Stancill before dropping back a few spots due to brake issues. When NPR teammates Gotsacker and Paddy Rodenbeck hooked bumpers in turn three going for the lead, a wreck insued, putting Ross on the point.
Ross held off a late charge from Kyle Beattie to take the overall race win as well as the Semi Pro victory. Beattie got the Pro win finishing second with Wayne Austin crossing the line in third, netting him the Masters victory.
ANOTHER CONCORD POINTS LEADER SKIPS CMP TO RACE CARAWAY
Many thought Steven Ross would appear at Concord Motorsport Park Friday to continue his domination in the Legends Semi Pro ranks.
Many were wrong.
Along with many that didn't show to race at Concord, Ross appeared in the pits at Caraway Speedway Friday. LN talked to Ross about his decision to skip CMP. His decision was based on the large points lead he has at Concord, along with the second place in points, John Stancill, also skipping Concord in favor of Caraway. More on this next week here at LegendsNation.com.
RODENBECK LEAVES CLAY HAIR MOTORSPORTS FOR NPR
Earlier this week LN learned there was some driver shuffling happening within some of the big teams in the Carolinas Legends realm. Friday Paddy Rodenbeck confirmed he left Clay Hair Motorsports, and now drives for Nick Pistone Racing.
At Caraway Speedway, Rodenbeck turned the wheel in his #129 Legends for the first time under NPR. Rodenbeck later removed the "9" from his door, changing his car number to "12". Rodenbeck adds a third driver to the NPR roster running for the National Championship for Legends racing.

FRIENDSHIP MOTOR SPEEDWAY BANDO AND LEGENDS RESULTS
For weeks the June 9th "Free-For-All" has been advertised, giving free access into the track for Bandolero drivers in hopes that the hundreds of Bando owners in the Carolinas would make their way to Friendship Motor Speedway. A disappointing 14 Bandos showed up to race in the heat races and features, leaving many scratching their head on what it takes to get a good field there.
Regardless, racing action took place.
In the combined Outlaw / Young Gun Bandolero race, Outlaw driver Nathan Rodgers took the victory when the leader fell out with just two laps to go. He was followed by fellow Outlaw Kendall Sellers to the checkered with Robert Poole taking third place and the win for the Young Guns group.
In the Bandits race, Sammy Jasper dominated the race from start to finish, taking another win in the fast #28 car. Brock Morris and Jesse Kirila came across second and third after a spirited battle for position the whole race.
The Legends took to the track in a combined division race. Pro driver Mitchell Coble continued his domination by taking the win with Semi Pro Steven Ross coming in second (winner in Semi Pro). Christian Pahud was third across the line. Larry Friddle was back in the pack, but was the Masters winner.
LegendsNation.com will have the full race stories this week. Stay tuned.
FRIENDSHIP KEEPS THE PLATES ON THE BANDOS
We heard earlier this week that Friendship Motor Speedway (NC) would be removing the restrictor plates from the Bandolero Outlaws and Young Guns as a trial. However, when the drivers showed up to race, plates were required.
We will have more on this story soon on LegendsNation.com.
