Dylan Ames Wins Twice at Sunny South Raceway – Winning $525 each day!
Press Box
Graham Moore of Sunny South Raceway scheduled a 2 day show promising to pay out big money for both days of racing.  Track Officials advertised a 50 lap Feature for both days based on qualifying.  The gates opened Saturday at 10:00, with practice from 12:00-2:00, qualifying at 2:30 and the 50 Lap Features to follow.  Dylan Ames decided to head to Sunny South to take his shot at the big Double Purse.

On Saturday, Ames practiced both his cars deciding to run his new #77 car prepared by Doug Stevens of ATM in Atlanta Georgia.  Ames set fast time for the Semi-Pros with a 13.01 second lap.  There were 9 Semi –Pros in the race.    The race was filled with cautions but Ames dominated the race, leading 49 of the 50 laps - taking his first Win at Sunny South Raceway.  Ames was very excited to pick up the $525 of cash for the win.

Due to car count on Sunday, Track officials decided to run all the legends together (Pros, Masters and Semi-Pros) for the show.  Ames decided to run his #48 Coupe for the event on Sunday.  After practice, the #48 was running lap times equal to the #77 from the previous day – but the competition of the Pros was going to make for an exciting race.  Qualifying started at 3:00 with Ames ending up in a tie for 3rd with a time of 13.03 seconds.  Since the #4 car had qualified earlier in the order, Ames was given the 4th starting position for the 50 Lap Feature.  During the first lap, Ames dropped to the bottom into 3rd position.  These Pros were flying around this fast high banked ¼ mile track with lap times dipping into the 12.90’s.  Ames ran 3rd for the first 25 laps.  Ames’ car was working better and better the longer the runs went.  After several cautions and lead changes with nose to tail racing, Ames led the field to the last restart with 11 laps to go.  Ames took the checkered flag with a 2-3 car link advantage – beating the Pros and getting his second pay day of $525 in two days.

Ames has been on a roll since finishing 4th in Semi-Pro at the Las Vegas Legend’s Nationals.  Ames is now gearing up for the PRI Show Invitational December 6&7 and completing the Legends of Georgia Winter Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Lanier and Cordele GA.  Keep up with via his website - www.DylanAmes.com
