Rockingham Speedway Adds Winter Road Course Races for Legends Bandolero and Thunder Roadsters
National Scene - From Rockingham Speedway PR
INEX racers wishing they had more chances to race on a road course this winter just got their wish granted with the announcement today that Rockingham Speedway will host two road races on January 6th and January 13th. The races will be INEX sanctioned so Legend racers will earn World Road Course points from the events.

When combined with the four road course events that will be run in January at Lowe’s Motor Speedway through their WinterHeat Series, Legends and Thunder Roadster racers will be able to race six times by the end of January and will already have enough starts to be eligible for the state championships. Racers wanting a shot at World Championship glory will only need four more road course starts, one regional race and then enter the World Finals at the end of the 2008 season.

The road course at “The Rock” will be set up similar to the course used at Lowe’s Motor Speedway so competitors should not need to change set-ups or rear end gear to race.
Rockingham Speedway will run nine different divisions during both race weekends. Legend Cars will feature the Pro, Master, Semi-Pro and Young Lions divisions while Bandolero divisions will have Outlaw, Young Gun, Bandit and Beginner Bandit and there will also be a separate Thunder Roadster feature as well. All divisions will have a heat race to determine the starting line-ups.

Gates will open at 7 a.m., practice starts at 9 a.m., heat races at 11:30 a.m. and feature races will begin at 1:00 p.m.

There will also be an open practice session on Saturday December 29, 2007 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
