Anderson Motor Speedway Gears Up For Legends Qualifier Event
Anderson Motor Speedway anxiously awaits the INEX 600 Racing Legends NTS Regional Qualifier event scheduled for Friday, August 10th. The Legends division has become one of the feature events at the 3/8 mile asphalt track over the last few years and weekly car counts average 18-20 cars. The track which is nestled just off I-85 midways between Charlotte and Atlanta has become a stopping ground for drivers who compete in the Summer Shootout Series. That’s why Anderson decided to do a tie-in event with the finale of the 10 week Shootout. Summer Shootout Champions who compete in the August 10th qualifier event are guaranteed a $100 in earnings and are invited to compete.
The program will be run in much the same format as it is on a weekly basis. Drivers will draw and run heats for the starting spot in the main event. Anderson usually runs all Legends cars in one class, but will make an exception this for the Qualifier event and will split the Pro/Masters from the Semi Pros. The Semi Pros will run a 30 lap main and the Pros/Masters are scheduled to complete 40 laps.
Also on the race card will be stock car racing in the B Mini Stock, C Mini Stock, Young Guns and Renegades divisions.
Pit gates open at 1PM. Practice for Legends competition will be held from 3:30 – 4:30PM. Legends will also have the opportunity for practice rounds during the 6:30-7:15 practice session followed by a driver’s meeting at 7:45. Racing is scheduled to begin at 8PM.
