Summer Sizzler Contestants - Who Can Win The Championships
by Jason Buckley
Legends – Masters Division
Brian Weimer, Clay Hair and Dennis White enter the Sizzler in a tie for the points lead.  Each driver has two wins to their credit this season with Eddie Harwell taking the remaining win to date.  Hair and White have had their share of bad luck races while Weimer has had all top-five finishes except a 13th during the second round.  The consistency he has might be what wins him the Sizzler Championship.

Legends – Pro Division
Tyler Green has been hot during this year’s Shootout.  With three wins and seven top-five finishes, Green has been on top of his game every round.  Chris Buescher, Casey Roderick and Scott Knox have all taken a single trophy home this season, but none of them have had the consistency, or luck, of Green.  It is Green’s championship to lose.

3005 pts: Casey Roderick
3005 pts: Scott Knox

Legends – Semi-Pro Division
Steven Ross is the only driver in the Semi-Pro Sizzler that has not raced in all seven Shootout events.  But the young driver has two wins to his credit, giving him the points lead with the bonus points.  Ross is consistent, but his winning at the Shootout and other tracks in the Carolinas this season places a target on his rear bumper.  If he can steer clear of disaster and hold off challenges by Daniel Hemric and Kyle Hall, the championship is his.

3010 pts: Steven Ross
3005 pts: Daniel Hemric
3000 pts: Kyle Hall
3000 pts: Matthew Stover
3000 pts: Christian Pahud
3000 pts: John Ellenburg
3000 pts: Austin Hill
3000 pts: J.R. Allen
3000 pts: Justin Swilling
3000 pts: Rob Sanders

Legends – Young Lions Division
The newest division at the Shootout this year is the biggest crap shoot for who will come out on top.  Trevor Farbo, Dylan Presnell and Tyler Millwood all have a single victory under their belts, but none of them have stood out as the driver to beat.  All three drivers have had up and down rounds this season.  Keep an eye on Jordan Penninger and Kyle Pierce, both of which could steal the show when the top three aren’t looking.

3005 pts: Trevor Farbo
3005 pts: Dylan Presnell
3005 pts: Tyler Millwood
3000 pts: Jordan Penninger
3000 pts: Devin Layser
3000 pts: Tyler Kivett
3000 pts: Kyle Pierce
3000 pts: Nick Hoffman
3000 pts: Chris Moore
3000 pts: Bailey Freeman

Bandolero – Outlaws Division
Kendall Sellers has been dominating in the win column this season.  Four winner’s trophies in seven races puts him as an automatic favorite for the Sizzler championship.  But before his name is etched into stone, Josh Turner, Christopher McKinney and Chris Honeycutt might have something to say about it.  All three drivers have hit the winner’s circle and all three have been fairly consistent.  But the driver who looks to be the driver to beat is Chris Morgan.  Morgan has yet to win, but six second-place finishes with the seventh being a third makes him the most consistent driver of the Shootout.

3020 pts: Kendall Sellers
3005 pts: Josh Turner
3005 pts: Christopher McKinney
3005 pts: Chris Honeycutt
3000 pts: Chris Morgan
3000 pts: Dawn Eagens
3000 pts: Marcus Limehouse
3000 pts: Nathan Rodgers
3000 pts: Charles Long, Jr.
3000 pts: Tim Kenner

Bandolero – Young Guns Division
Four wins in seven races puts Ryan Glenski in the top spot and the driver to beat.  He has been strong every race and been able to work his way to the front no matter where he starts.  But his biggest challenge will be to hold off Clint King and Ronnie Bassett, Jr.  Both drivers are hard racers that fight for position every lap on the track.  But all three drivers will have to watch out for Bryce Walker and Nick Stroupe, both of which have great showings when they do not get wrecked out.

3020 pts: Ryan Glenski
3005 pts: Clint King
3005 pts: Ronnie Bassett, Jr.
3000 pts: Bryce Walker
3000 pts: Tyler Hill
3000 pts: Nicholas Stroupe
3000 pts: Brandon Lynn
3000 pts: Brett Pepicelli
3000 pts: Justin Grimes
3000 pts: Benji Hicks

Bandolero – Bandits Division
Plain and simple, Kyle Plott is the favorite going into the Sizzler.  The young driver is on a hot streak after winning the last four races in a row.  They have hit on a combination that has allowed them to run to the front in every race.  Plott’s major contender is Dillon Bassett, who won the first two races and has been in contention just about every race since.  Matt Wallace has also been strong since the second week of the Shootout, but consistent might not be enough to win.  Davey Matthews and Stephen Bergh, Jr. will also be threats if they keep the bad luck from striking them like it has this season.

3020 pts: Kyle Plott
3010 pts: Dillon Bassett
3000 pts: Matt Wallace
3000 pts: Davey Matthews
3000 pts: Stephen Bergh, Jr.
3000 pts: Corey Gordon
3000 pts: Tyler Lester
3000 pts: Blake Jones
3000 pts: Sean Shalvoy
3000 pts: Bayley Currey
