SEMI PRO – Kara Clarke Gets It Done

Teammates on the race track can help drivers advance their position through the field.  But for Kara Clarke and Matt Lundstrom, battling each week against each other in the Semi Pro division with virtually no competition pitted the two team drivers against each other.

In the final spring race on the Millbridge Speedway dirt, Lundstrom attempted to be the better of the two by leading the first few laps of the event.  His run up front was cut short as Clarke passed him for the lead and went on to win the race, scoring her the track championship.

“The race was definitely good,” said Clarke.  “I don’t know if we had the best car.  The last couple of laps Matt was catching up.  Every time I looked in my rear view mirror he was getting closer.  I was happy to see the white flag and take the win.

“We are track champions for this half of the year.  I think we are coming back for the second season here at Millbridge.  We are also the national points leader as of right now.”

Lundstrom battled with the setup, and with a few tweaks he could have been in victory lane.

“I made a few changes after the first practice session,” said Lundstrom.  “I am still working on getting a handle on how the car was handling to make the car the best it could be.  The track changes so quickly, so it took a few laps to figure out how to get the car driving the best.”

PRO – The Falcon Lands in Trophy Heaven

After taking a year off from racing, Falcon Smith returned to the track this year with the gas pedal buried to the floor.  For his efforts, Falcon scored the track’s Pro Legends championship and currently sits atop the national dirt standings.

After the race, Smith looked towards the summer racing season.

“We are going to try to run the Summer Shootout this year pending sponsorship,” said Smith.  “We are planning on it, but we are looking for anybody to jump on board and help us out.  We run competitively everywhere we go, so it would be good exposure for someone.”
