For the second time this fall season, Concord Motorsport Park (NC) will hold Legends and Bandolero races on both Friday and Saturday night. While Friday night’s show competes against Anderson Motor Speedway (SC) and Caraway Speedway (NC), Saturday CMP is the only track in the Carolinas to house racing for the Legends (and Bandolero) nation.
GET WELL WISHES TO DAVID FURR
Duke Furr Racing driver David Furr (#33 Bandolero) was involved in a traffic accident over the holiday weekend. According to his brother Duke Furr, it was a serious accident which totalled the vehicle he was driving in, placing David Furr in the hospital.
LegendsNation.com spoke to Duke Furr Thursday afternoon. David Furr is currently out of the hospital, but will require multiple surgeries, which will keep him out from behind the wheel of a race car for quite some time. LN wants to send "get well" wishes to David Furr on a speedy recovery.

ANDERSON MOTOR SPEEDWAY HOSTING BORGWARNER NIGHT
Weekly racing resumes this Friday night at Anderson Motor Speedway featuring BorgWarner Night at the Races and stock car racing in 6 divisions. The race card will be highlighted by a C Mini Stock Championship and Renegades Bonus Night. BorgWarner is adding $100 bonus money to the winner in each of five divisions – this will be in addition to the regular AMS payout.
As part of their charity initiative, BorgWarner is requesting their employees and AMS fans to bring any unused canned goods to the event as they are having a canned food drive with all donations going to Golden Corner Ministries - Food Bank located in Seneca. The food bank is desperately in need of items such as peanut butter and canned fruit at this time.
Gates open at 5PM and racing is scheduled to begin at 8PM. For more information contact the Anderson Motor Speedway business office at (864) 882-0220, or visit www.AndersonMotorSpeedway.com.
PEPSI CO. WARS: NATIONALS WIN GOES TO MOUNTAIN DEW
In the Bandolero Bandits division, two drivers have Pepsi Company sponsors on their car, and both ended up in the top five.
Stephen Bergh’s #70 Pepsi Bandolero crossed the finish line first in Saturday’s normal KOIL Tour event, but in the Nationals he finished fifth. Meanwhile, finishing in third was Blake Jones in the #80 Mountain Dew Bandolero, winning the Pepsi Co. wars in the Bandits division.
HARD CHARGIN’ KYLE LOWRY MAKES A STATEMENT AT NATIONALS
Most people were focused on the close battle for the top spot in the Young Lions Nationals at Kentucky Speedway (KY) between Daniel Hemric and Christian Pahud, but one driver that didn’t get the recognition he should have was Kyle Lowry.
Starting in the back half of the field, the Georgia racer charged his way up to fourth at the finish of the race.
“We had some bad luck in qualifying and heat races,” said Lowry. “We started the race in 18th and came through a lot of wrecks. We got the car handling good and got to the top five. We got to fourth and I was just riding then.
“Top five in the Nationals is good, but if you look at where I started and had to come from to get a top five, that is pretty impressive I think.”
THANKS FROM METHODIST MOTORSPORTS
Every weekend at the race track drivers and teams attempt to beat each other to the finish line first, but while most are rivals on the track, off they are a family who do what they can to help their fellow racers in times of need. That was made evident this week after the Methodist Motorsports group had their truck break down just an hour South of Kentucky Speedway on the back to the Carolinas.
Multiple members of the racing community offered assistance to the team to get back to the Concord (NC) area. LegendsNation.com spoke to Jeff Sellers from Methodist Motorsports during the week and he wanted to pass along a "thanks" to all of those that offered assistance so they could get back and race this weekend.
