Summer Shootout Practice Notes
Tuesday night the Legends and Bandolero drivers headed to Lowe’s Motor Speedway for one of the last practice sessions for the Summer Shootout, which starts in one week on Tuesday, June 12th.
Drivers showed up confused over the practice procedure due to the addition of the modified 1.5-mile Thunder Roadsters practice for the first half of the 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Officials did rotate the ¼-mile Legends and Bandoleros during the full three hours of practice, giving all drivers time to shake down their cars.

An interesting development has come to light during the Summer Shootout practice Tuesday. Some drivers appeared in new rides in preparation for the Shootout to start next week. There are some driver’s names that are rumored to have left some big team operations for other teams.
Stay tuned to LegendsNation.com for more on the driver shuffle.

Friendship Motor Speedway Apologizes For Schedule Mishap
Drivers are hoping to avoid wrecks at the Summer Shootout like this one during the NASCAR weekend.
Most of the practice sessions went smooth with only a few wrecked race cars coming in on the hook. This was surprising considering the amount of cars that were allowed on the track at the same time in some of the sessions.
The buzz in the pits still surrounds the restrictor plate that is mandatory only for the Bandolero Bandits division. While some struggled on how to put the plate on, others struggled with having to use them in general. LegendsNation.com will have more on the restrictor plate buzz in the coming weeks.
The final practice before the Shootout begins will take place Monday, June 11th.
Driver Team Movement In The Carolinas
Last week we were contacted by Friendship Motor Speedway in regards to their race listed on Saturday, June 2nd. The track had removed that date from their track schedule, however the information was not changed on 600 Racing’s website or here at LN. We placed up an update, however Friendship has addressed the situation on their site.
“The management of Friendship Motor Speedway apologizes for any inconvenience caused by not having an event on Saturday, June 2nd. I had discussed not holding the event with Darrell and failed to remove the date from my web-site. The misunderstanding was completely my fault and again I want to apologize for the mistake.”

Outlaws and Young Guns Unrestricted at Friendship Motor Speedway June 9th
Friendship Motor Speedway (NC) will have their Bandolero Free-For-All on Saturday, June 9th. With no entry fee and free Bando driver pit passes, there should be a good car count for the 30-lap features.
Another twist to the weekend was also revealed recently. On a test basis for this race, the Bandolero Outlaws and Young Guns divisions will race unrestricted. Bandits will apparently still run the restrictor plate.
More information and directions to the facility can be found on their website at www.friendshipmotorspeedway.com.
Concord Make Up Date Pushed to Fall Season
Sometimes it just isn’t in the cards.
The Friday, May 4th Legends and Bandolero races at Concord Motorsport Park (NC) were rescheduled to Sunday, June 3rd due to rain. When June 3rd rolled around, the weather didn’t cooperate again as it rained out the events for the day.
According to the CMP website, a make up date has not been determined. If it will be rescheduled, the race will be in the fall season.
Friday, June 8th will be the final race in the spring half of their season. According to Concord Motorsport Park officials, the spring and fall race points are combined together for their track season championship.
