YOU CAN BE ON TV AT OCR ACTION SPORTS PARK

Many drivers from across the country make their way to Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord (NC) for the Summer Shootout because of the television exposure it provides.  But the Shootout is not the only place Bandolero drivers can race and be seen on TV. 

OCR Action Sports Park in Rougemont (NC) is the home for the “Bandoleros/Maxxis EL TV Series.”  This four-race series takes place on the facility’s flat ¼-mile asphalt oval, where the racing is not only fast and furious but video recorded for television broadcast.

“The Bandoleros/Maxxis EL Series is a four-race televised championship for the Bandoleros here at OCR,” said Ollie Spain, Race Director at OCR Action Sports Park.  “There are no drops, meaning points for every race are important.  It is an all-out ‘winner takes all’ deal for the Bandoleros.  We have run one race so far, and this coming weekend will be the second of the four races in the series.

“The races are being recorded by JR Motorsports Television and will be on Time Warner Cable in Charlotte, Time Warner Cable in Raleigh/Durham, the Sunshine Network and the New England Sports Network.  It is going to be aired nationally, so it is a pretty cool deal.”

Besides being aired on TV, competitors and fans alike will be able to acquire their own personal copy of the racing action, starting this weekend.

“We will have DVDs available for sale at the track this weekend,” said Spain.  “They will also be available on the OCR website in the near future for order and we will send it to you.  The good thing is that we are showing the races and driver interviews.  There is a lot of on- and off-track coverage with some great victory lane coverage after the races.  It is a real first class deal.”

The Bandoleros/Maxxis EL Series at OCR Action Sports Park features Bandits, Young Guns and Outlaws divisions of racing, and the points earned during the four-race championship also go towards the INEX National points scene.  For more information on the series, as well as the other points races held at OCR, visit their website at www.ocrpark.com.
