“I wish the rain wouldn’t have got in the way,” said Pack.  “I would have liked to race the main to see what would have happened in that.”

While OCR gets rave reviews from all the drivers who race on it, it is still suffering from a low car count.  Only four Young Guns showed up to race, making it a poor showing for the Bandoleros.
“This is a good facility,” said Pack.  “We just need to get more cars here like we get at Concord to come up here and run.  This is fun track to race on.  There isn’t anything wrong with it.  It is a great track.”

Mason Hudson Takes The Bandit Win In Two-Car Duel

While the weather affected the Young Guns race at OCR one way, it affected the Bandit division in another.  With only two Bandits showing up to race, they were able to get their race in after the track dried up.  When it was over, Mason Hudson took the win over Justin Crider.

The two drivers did get on the track before the rains came, making a slippery track for a few laps.
Mason Hudson took the win in a two-car Bandits race.
“It started sprinkling before we went out while we were still sitting on the grid,” said Hudson.  “I didn’t think we were going to get it in.  We went out there and it got slick.  I almost spun out.  I am glad they stopped it when they did.”

After the rains stopped, the track crew put some trucks on the track to get heat back in the surface and to dry the track.  Once it was dry enough, Hudson and Crider hit the track again.  Hudson led every lap on the way to the victory.
“It wasn’t real wet,” said Hudson after they restarted.  “I could still drive my regular line.  I didn’t have to change anything.

“I just made sure not to overdrive it.  I couldn’t let Crider get by me.  I want to congratulate him on a good race.  He was sure making me nervous.  I just had to hit my marks so he wouldn’t get under me.”

RACE RESULTS: BANDITS

There have been two things at OCR Action Sports Park that have been constant this season.  One is the weather, as it has played havoc with the racing schedule.  The other has been how fast Dillon Pack has been in the Bandolero Young Guns.  Both ended up playing out in the finish of the Saturday afternoon events as Pack took the win in the heat race and the weather took the victory in the main.

“The Beantown Bandolero was running pretty good,” said Pack.  “It was running good in practice.  We just went out there and ran the heat race good.  Nobody was able to run with us.  They stayed with me, but our car was just running good overall.”

With Pack taking the easy win over Cody Scott, Hunter Synan and Terri Crider in the heat race, the focus shifted to the main.  Unfortunately, before the drivers could take to the track, the bottom fell out as it rained hard enough to stop the track action.  Most of the Young Guns didn’t feel they were going to get the main in, so they headed home.  Knowing this, the track made the heat race the main, giving the trophy to Pack.
