Subject: LegendsNation.com Article 6/14/07
On 6/14/07 legendsnation.com posted a story about the Bandolero finishes at the Lowes Motor Speedway Summer Shootout on 6/12/07 titled “SUMMER SHOOTOUT: Bandoleros Round 1 – 6/12/07”.
During the comments made by Scott Reinhardt addressing the tech issues that night, the word “restrictor plate stack” was used by Scott Reinhardt and he followed it up with, “and yes I just made that up tonight” referring to the word “restrictor plate stack”. It was not Scott Reinhardts intent to say “I just made that up tonight about how many gaskets you could use and what kind of gaskets.” In fact, the restrictor plate (gasket) instructions and pictures have been posted on the 600 Racing, Inc. web site since August 2006 and was also featured in “Tech Talk” of the 600 Racing. Inc magazine.
“I only commented that I made up that word (restrictor plate stack) so there would be no confusion, as the paperwork (instructions & pictures) does not refer to a “restrictor plate stack”.
The comment was also made in the beginning of this story that “officials took the trophy away from Swilling and awarded “Sparkplug” the victory.”
INEX Officials do not “take away” trophies. If it is determined in tech that a driver did not earn a position because of his or her car not meeting the guidelines of the rules, then the next (legal) car will receive the proper trophy.
The INEX rules are very clear that it is the drivers (parents if the driver is under-age) responsibility to bring a legal car to tech.

[Editor's Note: LegendsNation.com verified the accuracy of the printed quotes regarding the restrictor plate "stack" within the article (seen here) and played them via phone to Scott Reinhardt. While the quote was accurately printed, the interpretation can vary. LegendsNation.com understood the comment "I just made that up tonight" to reference the use of the word "stack", not the rule.
The restrictor plate installation can be found on 600 Racing's website (click here).
In reference to the word "taken", the win was "unofficially" awarded to Evan Swelling. After post-race tech inspection, Swelling was not declared the winner.]
